The Chausie originated in the 1960s when Jungle Cats (Felis chaus), a wild species found in parts of the Far and Middle East.

 It was developed by crossing a domestic and a jungle cat.

These are very sociable animals, and it’s hard for them to bear loneliness. Chausies will be happy with any company, whether it’s a human, other cats, or even a dog.
